I finally managed to snap some photos at a party. Things are still crazy, but I’m forcing myself to take on fewer gigs as I prepare to move to a new house and go to Africa with my Papa Bear. I may get to face paint in Africa, so keep posted for photos of that.
Is party was full of rainbow lovers. I had rainbow butterflies, zebras, lions, and unicorns.
It’s been far too long since I’ve posted. My Living Social Deal was very successful, and I’ve been run ragged trying to keep up with everything. Consequentially, I haven’t had much time for taking photos or painting projects at home. I’m posting what I’ve got along with some photos from a family sidewalk chalk session. Enjoy!

This morning I got to help a little girl with her school presentation on Pandas.
I bet she got an A!
Then, this evening, I got to celebrate one of my favorite people, Mini Me! She requested a “Jungle Jaguar” party, so we invited everyone to bring their favorite stuffed animal, and I painted their faces to match their furry friends. It was so fun, if a little chaotic painting and running a party at the same time.
I have to include a shot of the cupcakes because I worked so hard on the little animals. 🙂
I’ve been remiss in updating. Lately I’ve been working a lot of jobs where there simply isn’t time to take photos. Fortunately, I had a great “wild thing” birthday that was more low key and a lot of fun. The birthday girl asked to be a purple gorilla, which was a first for me, but I think she turned out darling!
I also had a fun Mardi Gras party last week. I did a lot of practice on my masks. The only photo from the party itself is of a lovely young woman who requested a purple elephant. It was such a unique petition that I had to snap a quick photo.
Wow! I had a crazy weekend. In addition to two nights of face painting at the wonderful Ogden Nature Center, I also had a birthday party (Mermaid themed) and three individual appointments for sugar skulls. I didn’t get a chance to snap any photos at the nature center, but here are a few from my other jobs.
I had a lovely afternoon painting circus animals for a double birthday party. There was a little heated football rivalry at the end. I’m guessing this particular house is a riot on game day!
I always have fun when I paint, but some parties really stand out. Not long ago, I was privileged to be at such an event. A very lucky little girl had a wonderful birthday thanks to her delightful parents. When dad came up to me and requested the same thing his daughter chose (a sparkly mermaid face), I knew I was hanging out with some pretty dang cool people.
These pictures are quite overdue since they are from last month. I’ve been crazy busy lately, is its taken me this long to get them posted. Unfortunately, they aren’t the best since I had to use my phone.
This was another boy birthday, so it was heavy on the skulls, zombies and monsters. By the end, the adults started to join in. I had a great time painting them. The young couple were getting ready to go to a dance and wanted matching eyes designs that were 80’s inspired.
I had a HUGE Scooby Doo fan celebrate a birthday today. He was such a sweet kid, and his friends and cousins were equally charming. It was perfectly lovely to paint faces under the shade of a majestic old tree while other kids ran around playing tag and finding clues on a scavenger hunt. This was the quintessential spring birthday. I can only hope I get a chance to visit this cool family again.
Recently I did a fun birthday party in a local park. I had a dragon face that I had been wanting to practice, and lo and behold, the birthday boy wanted to be a dragon! Of course, several of his friends followed suit, so I got in a lot of practice. This family was a hoot, and I was happy to be a part of their special celebration.
